News copy editor working on Metro, Nation/World and Business copy. Regularly led copy desk. Helped update stylebook. Filled in as Metro page designer. For two years, split time as Nation/World originating editor, creating story budgets, preparing wire copy and planning presentation. Interned on news copy desk in winter 1998.

As editor in chief, supervised an editorial staff of 30 and oversaw an additional 10 business and ad employees in a nonlab paper. Developed story and photo budgets. Edited all copy; designed pages. Managed budget of $250,000. Also worked as a copy editor and a reporter, crafting headlines, designing pages, and writing news, editorials and a weekly column.
